Gilmer County 1860 Mortality Schedule

Federal mortality census schedules were filled in by the population census enumerators in 1850-1880. The intent was to register all those dying within the year (July 1 1859 to and including 30 June 1860). The Georgia Schedules have been microfilmed and are part of the National Archives microfilm Series T655, reel 8.

The 1860 Mortality schedules provide the name, age, sex, color (White, Black, or Mulatto), Free or Slave, place of birth, month of death, profession or trade of deceased, disease or cause of death, and number of days ill. Only a portion of that data has been abstracted below, and uses are encouraged to find copies of the microfilm to view the entire schedule.

Note: The spelling that appears in the document has been preserved. "n.r." indicates that the information was not recorded.
